If you are looking for an Early Intervention Training Parenting program to improve the quality interaction between Children and Caregivers (Teachers, grandparents, parents, counselors, nurses, mental health experts etc.)
ICDP promotes good quality of caregiver and child interaction:-
As parents/caregivers or teachers working with children we know that relating with them is not always an easy task. We all want to do the best we can, but sometimes our efforts seem to have an opposite result from what we are aiming for. Caregivers who have completed this course have witnessed positive changes in their families. What is a good way of guiding children so that they become the person we want them to be?
ICDP is an international programme with the objective to improve the relationship between caregivers and the children in their charge.
It was developed in Norway and is now being used in more than 65 countries around the world. Because of the proven positive impact on the relationship between caregivers and the children in their care, UNICEF and the World Health Organisation (WHO) endorse the programme worldwide.
ECEC has been selected for introducing the ICDP programme in Nepal.
ICDP International trainers have trained Nepali facilitators and they have been conducting caregivers meetings. As seen in every country, the results in Nepal are very encouraging: many parents witness improved understanding of their children and because of that there are less problems at home.

As of June 2017 there is a group of certified ICDP trainers available in Nepal. Now, facilitator training can be conducted in Nepal. After the training you will be certified to conduct-together with another ICDP facilitator - series of meetings with caregivers.

ICDP Facilitator,
KOSHISH Nepal
As an ICDP facilitator, I was able to change my own perception towards a child and interacting with a child personally and professionally. The knowledge, skill and practice from ICDP training has given me more confidence to be a better caregiver and parent in the days to come. I understand ICDP as a simple and effective intervention that builds Competence of caregivers in providing psychosocial care.
Being a mental health professional, I used to believe that only experts can provide guidance on better parenting. After taking ICDP, I realized that empowering the child's parents or other caregivers through trainings, orientations and supervision is the best way to ensure proper care and overall wellbeing of a child.
When I have to connect ICDP with my working spheres, KOSHISH works in the field of mental health and psychosocial wellbeing. Sensitization of parents and caregivers whose family members are suffering from psychosocial issues was always challenging for me. Now, incorporating ICDP techniques in psychosocial counseling process related with child, family and relationship counseling has been proved to be very effective. This technique is also helpful and effective in school mental health programs of KOSHISH.
